(KPL) Vice President Phankham Viphavanh on Tuesday received the Chairman of China’s Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Du Jiahao who was on a working visit to the Lao PDR between Nov 25 and 28.
The vice president highly valued the visit to Laos by Mr Du Jiahao and his delegation and the cooperation and relations between the two Parties, governments and people of Laos and China.
Vice President Phankham exchanged points of view with the Chinese guest on strengthening the cooperation and relations between the two countries as well as between Hunan province and its twin provinces in Laos.
In reply, Mr. Du Jiahao noted the achievements made by the Lao people and the cooperation and relations between the two Parties, governments of Laos and China as well as the visit to China by President Bounnhang Vorachit in early June as his visit resulted in an agreement between the two countries to raise the cooperation and relations to a higher level.
On this occasion, Mr. Du Jiahao also paid a courtesy call to Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Sounthone Xayachack, Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith, and Vientiane Mayor Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune.
Mr. Du also visited Savannakhet and Luang Prabang where he met with local senior officials on strengthening cooperation and relations between Hunan Province of China and the two provinces of the Lao PDR.
