PHNOM PENH – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet assured on Wednesday that the Southeast Asian country will eradicate by April 2026.
He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2026 in Phnom Penh, saying that the move aimed to reinforce the rule of law and further safeguard the integrity of the investment climate.
“We have worked deliberately to create a secure and predictable operating environment that minimizes jurisdictional risk, enhances confidence of businesses and investment, more competitiveness, and ensures long term business continuity,” he said.
The Southeast Asian country has launched an unprecedented nationwide crackdown on cyber scam networks to maintain social security, safety, and public order, and to restore the kingdom’s image on the international stage.
Interior Minister Sar Sokha said last week that Cambodia had deported more than 30,000 suspected foreign scammers, as over 210,000 others had voluntarily left the kingdom after operations against online scams had intensified since June last year.
