ISLAMABAD – Pakistani security forces and law enforcement agencies have “successfully thwarted the evil design of terrorists,” killing 92 terrorists in the country’s southwestern Balochistan province on Saturday, the military said in a statement.
The terrorists conducted multiple terrorist activities across the province on Saturday, the statement said, adding that the attacks were aimed at “disrupting the lives of local populace and development of Balochistan.”
The military said 18 innocent civilians were killed in Gwadar and Kharan districts, and during clearance operations and intense standoffs, 15 soldiers also lost their lives.
“With these successful operations in last two days, the total number of terrorists killed in the ongoing operations in Balochistan has reached 133,” the statement added, explaining that 41 of them were killed Friday in the province.
Sanitization operations in these areas are being continuously conducted, and the perpetrators and facilitators of these terrorist acts will be brought to justice, the statement said.
Intelligence reports have unequivocally confirmed that the attacks were orchestrated and directed by terrorist ring leaders operating from outside Pakistan, the military said.
