AsiaNetanyahu: Israel, US won't allow Iran to revive nuclear, missile programs

JERUSALEM – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said here on Monday that Israel would not allow Iran to revive its nuclear program or rebuild its ballistic missile industry, adding that the stance was coordinated with the United States.

Addressing parliament, Netanyahu said he and US President Donald Trump share an “unequivocal position” that Iran would not be allowed to rebuild its ballistic missile industry. He added that the two countries “would not permit” Iran to revive its nuclear program, which Israel and the US targeted during a 12-day war in June 2025.

“Our shared position on Iran remains unchanged: zero enrichment capability, the removal of all enriched uranium from Iran, and strict, continuous oversight of its nuclear facilities,” Netanyahu said.

The remarks came a day after Netanyahu told his cabinet that he had discussed the Iranian nuclear issue with Trump during a visit to Florida last week. He said Israel and the US had reaffirmed their shared stance on Iran, including demands that Teheran fully abandon , remove about 400 kg of 60 percent enriched uranium from the country, and allow tight monitoring of its nuclear facilities.

Netanyahu said the talks took place “at the beginning of the developing, dramatic events in Iran,” referring to recent protests in the Islamic republic and Trump’s warning that the United States would intervene if peaceful protesters were killed.
